It was a good start by Cardiff with Pilkington going closest to breaking through but he saw his effort saved but Charlton 'keeper Pope.
But the half ended goalless after defender Morrison saw his header, from a Whittingham corner, cleared off the line by Cousins. Defender Morrison had another chance with Ralls finishing poorly when he should have given Cardiff the lead with the Bluebirds goal threatened by a Watt header before the break.
Ahearne-Grant (49), who had come of for Charlton, had the Addicks ahead early in the second half when he was able to beat Moore, filling in for the suspended Marshall.
It wasn't a deficit for long with Mason (53), despite the Charlton appeals for a handball, levelling within minutes for Cardiff from close range.
This could have gone either way with Mason again going close for Cardiff, however Bluebirds 'keeper Moore saved from both Watt and Cousins to keep the scores level before Morrison headed over again!
Morrison (76), who kept plugging away, finally headed home a Whittingham cross to put Cardiff ahead and indeed win the game two-one.
This win not only ended back-to-back defeats it also moved Cardiff back up into the play-off places in fifth.
Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most in this comeback win?
