Top Dog Parry Outshone By Stokeite

Cardiff City midfielder/forward Paul Parry is currently sitting pretty atop the Actin ranking index for the Championship. The statistical analysis reveals Parry to be the top player outside the Premiership.

Parry climbed to the top position largely thanks to a brace against West Brom and another goal in the 3-1 win against QPR.

However, the player in number 2 position and nipping at Parry's heels is Liam Lawrence, the former Mansfield Town winger who now plays for our Championship rivals Stoke City.

The two sides went head-to-head on Saturday and it was the Potters who came out on top with winger Lawrence putting in an impressive performance (as he always seems to do against us!). Lawrence caused problems all game for Cardiff and it was his corner which deflected in off Roger Johnson to give Stoke the lead.

Paul Parry against played upfront but was unable to find much space behind a gigantic Stoke defence. He got an important touch to set up Hasselbaink's goal for Cardiff, but chances were few and far between for the former Hereford United star.

The latest stats (released Thursday) are likely to show Lawrence to have re-gained top spot from Parry but hopefully the Welshman can continue his impressive form and continue racking up points.
