Cardiff Feel Curse of Jones Award

It was destined to happen. After a rollercoaster season to date, Cardiff City fans just knew that the 'curse' of the manager of the moth award would haunt Cardiff if anyone.

A fanstastic run stretching back to a 4-1 hammering of Colchester United in December has seen a resurgent Bluebirds outfit storm up the table courtesy of a 7 match unbeaten streak including 5 wins and two unlucky but impressive draws against West Brom and Watford.

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones duly collected the manager of the moth award for January, and the Bluebirds duly lost their next game.

It happens so often, that the manager of the month gong is followed by a loss of form and results. However, in Cardiff's case - it was slightly unfortunate.

Against a high-flying and immensely powerful Stoke City outfit, Cardiff were not at their best. However an own goal and dubious penalty were the Bluebirds undoing and they gave it a decent shot in tricky conditions.

It appears that fate conspired against us on this occasion, there is though plenty to look forward to and Cardiff City fans can feel optimism for the rest of the season as they chase one of the much covetted play-off positions.
