Dave Jones Happy With Cardiff Draw

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones seemed happy enough with the FA Cup 5th round draw which sees one of his former clubs visit Ninian Park in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Although Cardiff would have preferred a lucrative tie against one of the Premiership giants, a home tie was seen as the next best option and the odds were always on a clash against one of our Championship rivals.

Dave Jones told the Official Site:

'I think if you are going to play someone in your own division it's important to get a home draw. So from that respect I think it is as good as it could be.'

'From a financial point of view when you get to this stage any home game will be a sell out.'

The game cannot be allowed to detract form the league, and with the small squad and fixture pile-up, a draw would not be a favourable result. It's just another game, and one we have a decent chance of winning so a good day out for the fans, and a match without the league pressure for the team. No big hype necessary but it's always good to continue a cup run and a quarter final position would be a worthy reward.
