'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cardiff See Off Bulls (Boss Comment)

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was relieved to see his side safely avoid the potential banana skin and go through to the next round courtesy of a 2-1 win over The Bulls. He told BBC Sport:

'At 2-0 maybe we thought the game was over, but we gave them hope and that's cup football for you sometimes.'

'We could have made it easier by doing the right things that we'd done for the 80-odd minutes but we wouldn't be Cardiff if we didn't do that.'

'It was always going to be difficult and the main thing was that we didn't become the upset of the day.'

Hereford United manager Graham Turner praised his side for their battling qualities and pointed to the added quality in the Cardiff side as a crucial factor in the win:

'I think we'd be fair to say we've been beaten by a good Cardiff side. But the pleasing aspect from our point of view was the last 20 minutes we really had a go.'

'If had been another day with a little bit of luck, we might have got a draw out of it.'
