Gunter Clean Sheet On Spurs Debut

Cardiff City have lost two players so far in the transfer window, one will be missed far more than the other!

Chris Gunter moved to Tottenham Hotspur as the window opened, and made his debut for his new club last night in the FA Cup.

Gunter played the full 90 minutes of Spurs' 1-0 win over Premiership rivals Reading. Robbie Keane got the winner while the Welsh defender acquited himself well and made a series of timely interceptions and challenges.

Fans of Cardiff City and Wales will know that Gunter is a real prospect and Tottenham Hotpur and Wales followers will be keeping a close eye on his progress. On this performance, he may well be given more first team opportunities by new manager Juande Ramos.

Agree shropshire, all the ratings gave him good marks and I lsitened live and he sounded like he's been playing LB for years, I also believe he's more of a RB, gotta love abit of versatility!
ScottDaYid
Do you think he may get the starting position of LB against Sunderland at the weekend? Could be a good opportunity to blood him in against one of the lower teams plus he'll have the home fans on his side...?
cheddar_green
Possibly but then we have our most important 2 games of the season against arsenal and utd in the cups, do you risk him against them or do you put a unfit Lee there. (after not playing in the previous week or so.
ScottDaYid
He's a right-back primarily guys, and a good one. Left back he never actually played for Cardiff ! Did well there for Wales, and is always comfortable on the ball so I'm sure he can be good there too. Good signing...
bluebirdshroom
Fair assessment. I can't fault fault LYP for effort but the little mans just not cut out physically for the Prem. Gunter would defo be a risk next tuesday - but he has already played at full international level so the risk may not be too great...?
cheddar_green
gunter wont be playing on tuesday as he is cup tied!!
showstopper
Showstopper living up to his name there lol I was impressed with him. Him and Bale (when fit) will be juicy!
