Cardiff Brush Off Owls -Boss Comment

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was again left to reflect on the right result, a good performance but a host of missed opportunities which left a nervy second half. Jones told BBC Sport:

'They are a good side and when we didn't get the second goal we deserved, it gave them hope.'

'We should have been more than a goal up at the interval but we held on for the victory.'

'Jimmy's goal was a great move but we had to grind it out and some of the defensive headers were superb.'

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws strangely chose to single out his goalkeeper at fault for the winner. However, Grant kept his side in the game at times and Laws will need to concentrate on restricting opposition possession and chances, rather than reflect on a keeper charging out once:

'We were a yard off the pace in the first half and allowed them to get on top.'

'It was a mistake by the keeper who rushed out and left Hasselbaink with an easy finish that has cost us today.'

The Owls are a good side but were outplayed and it would have done Cardiff an injustice if the points were shared. Thats 3 consecutive 1-0 wins and clean sheets at home - more goals will surely come if the 1st half performance is any indicator.
