Ledley & Ramsey Talent Noticed

Cardiff City have produced a number of great quality young players in recent years. Chris Gunter came through the academy and has just moved to Spurs in a big money deal, Earnshaw did the same several years ago.

The Bluebirds have also had success identifying other young players like Chopra, Cameron Jerome and Danny Gabbidon who had the quality to succeed.

Its no big suprise then that the Independent Newspaper has featured Cardiff City players in their 'best players' outside the Premiership' feature.

Joe Ledley is third on that list behind Alan Hutton or Rnagers, and Michael Kightly plucked from non-league football by Wolverhampton Wanderers. Ledley's stock has soared recently and he is vastly experienced for such a young player. Versatile, energetic and highly skilled - he is a very good player, and getting better. Other clubs are noticing, and Joe has been scouted by many clubs in the Championship and Premiership.

Interestingly, Ledley alongside Wales team-mate Wayne Hennessey (Wolves goalkeeper) is the youngest to make the top 20, aged just 20. This underlines his success and achievements so far and points to a big future for the Fairwater-Boy.

Cardiff City's teenage sensation Aaron Ramsey is also raising eyebrows and has huge amounts of potential. He is featured in the 'Ten teenagers to watch' section along with former team-mate Chris Gunter.

The emerging talent is testament to Cardiff City's progress in the last few years, but only if they can hold onto their talent and see it blossom. We cannot continue to be a feeder club and must push on and realise our own potential. We'll always keep an eye out for the Koumas', Collins', Gabbidons, Earnshaws and Gunters strutting their stuff in the Premiership.

Hopefully the Ramsey, Ledley. Blake Smith era at Cardiff City can take us there too.

We don't exist to find and develop young players for other teams to sign - we must see our aim as bringing on our youngsters so that they take US into the Premiership ..
