Cardiff City face non-league minnows Chasetown today in the FA Cup 3rd round with the underdogs hpoping for a spot of giantkilling at The Scholar's Ground.
On paper the game is a complete mismatch with Chasetown 135 places lower in the league structure than the visitors.
However, Team Bath, Nuneaton Borough and, most notably, Port Vale can warn of the dangers of complacency and Cardiff City cannot afford to take the game lightly. The game will be played at a tiny ground with adverse weather conditions and a packed midfield to disrupt Cardiff City's game, and the minnows will be going all out to cause a cup upset.
Chasetown are in excellent form recently, resting their entire starting XI for the last game yet still winning the game. They are unbeaten in six and has lost just once in the previous ten games.
Manager Charlie Blakemore has the Chasetown team fully rested and fired up for the biggest game ever (probably!) for many of the Scholars.
Cardiff City's form is largely irrelevant as this will be a completely different and alien environment. They must be proffessional and alert and they will surely progress and avoid any upset.
This should be an exciting encounter, the magic of the cup is alive and this game will be of interest to many fans and many more neutrals around the country.
