Cardiff City's talented midfielder Joe Ledley is attracting strong interest as the transfer window opens and Saturday's performance over Preston will certainly have enhanced his reputation and impressed any watching scouts with Wolves and Reading showing strong interest.
Ledley put in a typical energetic performance, showing many of the qualities he has shown during his time with Wales and Cardiff City. His cross provided the equaliser for Roger Johnson, and Ledley scored the winner after a powerful surging run from half-way.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have registered interest and it is thought Ledley himself turned down a move to Molineux. The club will not be forced to sell unless a large offer is recieved, but Ledley has intimated his desire to remain at his hometown club. He told the Mirror:
'I'm probably playing the best I've played this season,'
'I am happy where I am at Cardiff. If they accept a bid then I will be gone but it's up to Cardiff.'
'Everybody wants to play in the Premier League. Hopefully I can do that with Cardiff.'
Ledley has been such a big part of the squad for several seasons now despite his young age. He has excelled on the left, in the centre and also performed admirable at left-back. A move to Wolves would not be much of a career jump and with the club not under severe financial pressure, he would do better to stay - hopefully he will !
