Preston vs Cardiff (Team News)
Cardiff City are without Robbie Fowler who has ankle ligament damage and is facing another hip operation. Riccy Scimeca is ready to train following a groin injury but is well short on match practice. Trevor Sinclair is also still out following his knee operation.
Kevin McNaughton and Stephen McPhail are both rated doubtful after picking up leg injuries against Watford. Each will have a late fitness test with scenarios as such:
1. If McPhail is out, Ledley would switch inside, Whitts on the left and Hasselbaink upfront with MacLean as Parry plays wide right. Aaron Ramsey provides a like-for-like posibility.
2. If McNaughton is out, Darcy Blake would be the likely replacement at right-back.
Steve Thompson serves the final game of his 3 match suspension.
For Preston, Patrick Agyemang is hoping for a re-call but is vying with Mellor, Gallacher and Karl Hawley for the starting spots.
Defender and former Cardiff City target Billy Jones will be asked to play through the pain barrier as he awaits a hernia operation. Jones was withdrawn early against Scunthorpe so may be rested.
