Leicester To Up Bid For Capaldi

Cardiff City are braced for another, improved bid for Northern Ireland defender Tony Capaldi as the full back interests his former employer. The Bluebirds rejected one bid, thought to be around £90k, for the player in the days before the Sheffield United game - in which Capaldi returned to the starting line up and did OK as the Bluebirds won 1-0.

Ian Holloway was bitterly disappointed to lose Capaldi to Cardiff on a free when he was boss at Plymouth Argyle, now at the Foxes, he has a large transfer kitty to spend and remains interested in Capaldi.

It's fair to say that Capaldi has not excelled at Cardiff City as yet. His form is described as 'steady' at best but he has looked comfortable since being recalled in Chris Gunter's absence.

He cost us nothing and with fans already on his back, Capaldi may well consider the move. Dave Jones is a fan of the player but an increased bid could seriously test his resolve.

Kevin McNaughton and Joe Ledley can both play at left-back effectively while McNaughton and youngsters Matt Smith and Darcy Blake both play at right back and have shown good potential.
