Blackpool 0-1 Cardiff City !!!!!

Cardiff City took the lead courtesy of a Steve Thompson beauty in the 14th minute, curled into the corner from 25 yards - the in-form striker showing he can score all manner of goals.

Ben Burgess and Kiegan Parker were a threat upfront for Blackpool, Burgess' strength meaning a tough time for Johnson and Loovens.

Hasselbaink had a great chance to double the lead, but Rachubka saved with his legs.

The second half belonged firmly to the home side, although Cardiff had several decent chances on the break.

Time and time again, Johnson, McNaughton et al were called upon to hack, head or block and Gary Taylor-Fletched hit the bar as Blackpool pressed.

4 minutes injry time were added and Joe Ledley had a great chance to win it but hit the post. Cardiff hled on nevertheless and took all three points and how important could that prove to be.....?

Full match report to follow tomorrow.
