'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cardiff v Colchester (Team News)

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is inexplicably set to stick with his misfiring first XI after a woeful showing against Charlton. Apparently several players were suffering with a bug and will be given another chance with fringe players like Roger Johnson, Peter Whittingham and promising youngsters like Aaron Ramsey barely given a chance despite the disappointments of their peers.

Scimeca (groin), Sinclair (knee), and Fowler (hip) all remain on the treatment table.

Jimmy Hasselbaink may be recalled in attack although Thompson and MacLean may be given another chance to forge a partnership.

Former Cardiff City triallist Bela Belogh is unavailable for the U's with an ankle injury but left-back Danny Grnaville is now available.

Kemal Izzet is suspended after collecting his 5th yellow card in the win over Sheffield Wednesday and fellow midfielder Kevin Watson is unlikely and will face a late fitness test.

A big game for both sides, Cardiff desperately need a performance but the points are an absolute must.
