Cardiff Youngster Shines For U21s

Cardiff City's Darcy Blake made a telling contribution to a superb win for Wales U21s over their French counterparts last night.

Even with the likes of Cardiff City's Chris Gunter and Joe Ledley, ans Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale being called up to the senior squad, the youngsters shone to record a fantastic 4-2 win.

Aaron Ramsey also contributed to the win but Darcy Blake caught the eye after clearing well, winning a penalty and seeing a good effort cleared off the line.

Blake has been on the fringes of the Bluebirds' squad for some time, but has yet to gain any real league action. He appears a victim of his own versatility as he is able to operate in the centre or right, in defence or midfield.

Manchester City's Ched Evans was the Welsh hero with a hat-trick.
