Charlton Athletic's Lloyd Sam has stated his belief that Cardiff City are a good side and praised the battling nature of the team despite losing the game 3-0 and sitting perilously close to the Championship drop zone.
Cardiff didn't play particularly badly in the match, but were punished by a double blow moments before half time as two strokes of Fortune saw Charlton finish well twice and lead two nil at the break.
Despite some pressure second half, Cardiff failed to seriously threaten and eventually lost the game by three, causing distress among fans and chairman Peter Ridsdale who called a board meeting to discuss the future of Dave Jones.
However, Charlton Athletic's Lloyd Sam was still impressed by Cardiff's performance, he spoke on his icons.com homepage:
'Cardiff are a good side and I'm surprised they are struggling at the moment. Even though things aren't going their way they still battle hard and at times play some great football. No side with players like Hasselbaink and Fowler can be written off.'
'But we played really well and definately deserved the result.'
Despite constant re-assurances that things will improve, and we have the players to get out of this mess, we are struggling badly. The results have been woeful, and the performances lacking and disappointing.
Dave Jones is on his last chance, and the team must deliver against Ipswich Town next weekend.
