Cardiff City to Sack Dave Jones ?

The Guardian newspaper is claiming that under-fire Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is due to be sacked today.

The paper claims that chairman Peter Ridsdale has become disillusioned and lost faith in his manager after holding crisis talks following a 3-0 defeat at Charlton Athletic.

I don't think it will happen, sticking my neck out here, I think Dave Jones will still be in charge for our next game, and will be given more time to turn things around. Famous last words? Are others more in the know?

It's not his fault that those key penalties were missed in those early games or that Scimeca's still not playing or that on Saturday both Johnson and Purse were cruelly unlucky in their 'clearances' leading to Charlton goals .. I do blame him for sticking with McPhail and Rae when neither are either creating defence-splitting passes to our aged over-expensive front duo or having a go at actually putting the ball in the net themselves .. and he has expected too much of Robbie and Jimmy .. but to dump Dave Jones now would be panicky stupidity - he'd help his own case if supporters could see him on his feet screaming at players for crap football .. City supporters have always been good to players who are seen to be having a go .. Jones slumped in the dug-out instead of dancing up and down on the touchline may be Jones' style but it's not what supporters need to see ..

An excellent post gtsutton, i really think Jones has missed a few tricks this season, but he cannot be held wholly accountable for our table position. Two minutes of luck destroyed our game saturday, the same could happen the other way and completely change our season.

you only have to look at the stats for the Charlton game and many previous ones to see that City are not being thrashed--far from it. DJ deserves better than this-just 12 months ago we were begging him to stay!!! He and the team just need that little bit of luck to bring back some confidence and everything could change VERY quickly.

Hope the board stick with him, it's your players what are letting you down.
will it ever happen
