Cardiff Star Proud But Purposeful

Cardiff City captain and goalscorer Darren Purse revealed his pride at the performance of his side, ruing the bad luck that again befell his beleaguered Bluebirds. Purse told BBC Sport:

'It was a great performance, and we showed a lot of commitment and endeavour. We have done the club proud.'

'We executed our game plan well and it is the way our luck is going that they scored so quickly.'

However, the captain had little time to reflect and immediately turned his attention to the next game, and urged his colleagues to get their Championship campaign back on track:

'Hopefully we can get our league campaign back up and running,'

'Liverpool have gone now and we have to turn things around in our league campaign.'

'Crystal Palace are struggling so they'll be desperate for points and we have to be up for that game.'

Cardiff City are spared from action this weekend, after the Friday night clash in Blackpool was cancelled. They will play Crystal Palace the following Tuesday and must get back to winning ways as quickly as possible.

There's only one team that gets all the luck and it's not the championship sides when they play prem teams.
will it ever happen
