Cardiff 1-1 Scunthorpe (Report)

Cardiff City endured another frustrating afternoon in a scrappy game against Scunthorpe United today.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with neither side creating real chances but Cardiff City did take the lead when Hasselbaink skipped past a challenge on the right, and crossed for Stephen McPhail, thats right, STEPHEN McPHAIL to knock home from close range.

Cardiff dominated the rest of the game but Scunthorpe levelled proceedings in the second half as hesitant defending allowing Jim Goodwin to rifle home across debutant Kasper Schmichael.

Despite forming some half chances, Cardiff couldn't get another and regularly disappointed the small crowd with wasted possession and lack of creativity.

Full report to follow Monday.

.. yet again I travel literally 100s of miles and see a performance where only Ledley and Purse looked as if they really wanted to sort out problems by getting stuck in .. everyone near me thought McPhail's "goal" was actually an own goal .. "man of the match" - chosen by the Echo team - they must have been having a laugh or early on the bubbly .. only Ledley and Parry seem capable of running FAST with the ball .. get a grip, Mr.Jones - time will soon be running out .. relegation looms ..
