Cardiff's Cooper Set For Tranmere

Cardiff City's experienced winger Kevin Cooper is expected to sign for Tranmere Rovers today in an emergency loan deal.

The 32 year old Cooper was one of Dave Jones' first signings at Ninian Park and played a major role in his first season. However, last season Cooper fell out of favour with Paul Parry impressing on the right and since the arrival of Trevor Sinclair, Cooper's days have looked numbered.

He was placed on the transfer list over the summer but despite a loan spell at Yeovil Town last season, no moves materialised.

Tranmere manager and former Cardiff City player Ronnie Moore said:

'He is an experienced winger who likes to get the ball into the box and can take on defenders. I`m sure his time here will be beneficial to both the club and to Kevin.'

I'm sure Kevin has something to offer a lower league club and his link-up play is superb. A move is beneficial to all three parties and we wish Kevin all the best.
