Cardiff Fans Vote To Change Defense

Vital Cardiff City have recently conducted a poll into a tough decision for Dave Jones, the fans opinions, predictably, differing from the manager.

The Bluebirds have a wealth of talent at centre-back, with three good options to choose from. Injuries have meant that Jones has not had too many difficult decisions yet but continued defensive lapses, and the return of Darren Purse, have brought the first choice duo of Roger Johnson and Glenn Loovens under question.

There is a case for extra leadership at the back, something Purse would bring as well as some added grit. However, Johnson is the tallest of the three and a good footballer, while Loovens is the strongest, most imposing.

VitalCardiff asked which of the three YOU would drop....

Glenn Loovens (37%)
Darren Purse (26%)
Roger Johnson (26%)
None - Change the formation (11%)

Loovens was favourite for the chop, although doubts remain over the Purse/Johnson partnership with some believing they are too similar.

It was clear from the results that opinion is well and truly divided and there is little to choose between the three. Dave Jones does indeed have a difficult decision to make, and whilst his loyalty is admirable - the time may well have come for changes.

A new poll is open inviting opinions on Cardiff's 'luxury' player - Stephen McPhail.
