Vital Cardiff City spoke to Southampton Fan Chris this week ahead of the trip to face The Saints this weekend:
Are you happy with your departures / signings ?
A little disappointed until the loan captures of Davies and Ifil recently - hopefully we can tie up permanent deals and start to build a more settled squad. Good to sign Saganowski permanently over the summer but losing Bale, Baird and Best was a bugger!
An average start, satisfied so far?
Not really! Haven;t been settled for a while now and the squad hasn't gelled yet. Took a hammering from Preston, but then beat West Brom - need some stability and consistency and well as a drastic improvement to the defensive situation!
Aspirations for this season?
We simply have to finish in Top 10.We should be going for play-offs and with a bit of luck we will be but realistically we have to prepare for a fresh assault next year with a more established group of players.
Saints player to watch, how will they hurt us?
Rasiak is a quality player and top scorer, he may not even be in the side after Stern John got 2 goals against WBA but I would pick him and he will certainly give problems - Cardiff seem to be conceeding lots and you always fancy Rasiak to pop up.
If you could have one Cardiff player on a free, who and why?
Hard to say, our defence has been the problem recently but we've now moved to solve that. I do like the sound of Ledley who seems to have been playing for ever but Sky said he was only 21 - that cant be right! That Thompson bloke scored a screamer against us but he seems to have left you now?
Prediction for the game?
Almost impossible to predict Saints scores these days but I think a corner is being turned and we will settle for a hard fought point - though there will be goals! 3-3 to keep the Sky cameras happy?!?.
Thanks to Chris for his comments.
