Cardiff Boss Summoned To FAW

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones WILL face a disciplinary hearing in front of the FAW following his outburst at Oakwell last Saturday.

Jones was highly critical of referee Phil Dowd after the Premiership official failed to award Cardiff a penalty for a push on Joe Ledley. Jones branded Dowd a 'dodo' amongst other things (click here to read) in his post match interview and was unrepentant following his pitchside rant that led to him being banished to the stands.

Jones has been charged with misconduct and will defend himself at a hearing - it is likely that Jones will face a fine and/or a touchline ban following his comments.

He told BBC Sport:

'I don't see why I should be punished.'

'I was angry with the referee because I think he was the only person in the stadium that didn't think it was a penalty. He didn't make a big call.'

What do you think of Jones' outburst? Good to see a manager saying what he thinks and getting passionate? Or an unproffesional and unnecessary outburst? It's certainly a long long way from Lennie Lawrence !!

Let us hope the FAW understand that, although Dave Jones, should not have continued his protests, nor should the referee have left the pitch to continue the confrontation thereby making it worse through further incensing the Manager - most refs. would simply have run off on the pitch to get on with his job .. instead he behaved like a Victorian schoolmaster. A ticking off would be sufficient punishment for Jones.

the FAW aren't exactly his best friends. how many times did he have a go at them last year?
