Cardiff City supremo Peter Ridsdale recently offered to quit his role as Bluebirds' chairman after abusive text messages questioning his commitment and demanding the return of Sam Hammam.
The spectre of Hammam has loomed over the club for some time (see here ). Risdsdale has been open with the fans and has been asking for the full backing of supporters as he tries to build a successful Bluebirds' set-up for the future.
A recent poll on this Cardiff CIty website invited readers opinions on their backing for Peter Ridsdale, still hated in Yorkshire for his part in the demise of Leeds United:
100% Behind Him. 78%
Satisfied With Progress. 8%
A Little Disappointed. 3%
Rubbish - Bring Back Sam Hammam! 8%
Don't Care - Concentrate on the Team. 3%
In the most clear-cut poll ever conducted on Vital Cardiff, Peter Ridsdale appears to have the full backing of Bluebirds fans. A near unanimous 86% were at least happy with him, while a majority 78% were fully behind the chairman - a striking figure for a club having not spend a penny on transfer fees over the summer.
8% voted for the return of Sam Hammam. If any of those who voted for this choice would like to contact us - we'd really like to hear from you - clearly in a minority. Please contact cardiff@vitalfootball.co.uk.
