Cardiff Boss Trouble Over Ref Rage

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was left absolutely enraged after referee Phil Dowd waved away protests for a penalty after Joe Ledley was clattered in the Barnsley penalty area.

The referee had a poor game regardless but the decsion was bad, with Dowd also missing a Barnsley penalty shout for suspected hand-ball in the second half.

Jones continued his remonstrations from the touchline, and failed to desist when Dowd came to warn him culminating in Jones being banished to the stands shortly before half time.

In his post-match interview, Jones likened the referee to a 'Dodo':

'It was there to see.'

'We have big referees to come down into this division, it is a select game he has not been demoted and he didn't make the big decision.'

'If we doesn't make the decision then he has got to book Joe Ledley for diving. The lad took his leg away it is a penalty it's a simple as that. '

Jones has previosuly voiced his anger at Premiership referees being dropped from the top flight only to make costly mistakes at Championship level. In this case, Dowd was a late replacement.

His reaction in this case is likely to spark a disciplinary hearing with the F.A. and could mean a fine or touchline suspension for Dave Jones.
