Barnsley vs Cardiff (Match Preview)

Cardiff City travel to Barnsley looking to continue their impressive away form but come up against a Barnsley side who are able to score goals in this division.

In their 7 league games this season, the Tykes have scored 11 goals but conceded 12 and currently lie in 7th place - just outside the play-offs courtesy of an exciting start to the season.

A great number of summer ins and outs see a completely rebuilt Barnsley squad featuring many different nationalities including German, Brazilian, Peruvian and Hungarian. They also have some impressive home grown talent in former Cardiff target McCann and Brian Howard as well as the highly rated Jemal Campbell-Ryce.

The Tykes are unbeaten in three games, including two wins and have beaten Scunthorpe and Plymouth Arygle at home but lost 4-1 to Coventry. Their last outing was a thrilling 3-2 win at Southampton and only West Brom and Stoke City have kept a clean sheet.

Cardiff City are enjoying decent form on the road, and have the added bonus of a Hasselbaink / Robbie Fowler partnership that is beginning to flourish. Unbeaten away from home (in the league), with 2 wins from 3 and an impressive 4-2 midweek win at West Brom should see the Bluebirds bursting with confidence and out for all three points.

The Bluebirds have been hindered by their poor home form, languishing down in 17th place in the league. However, performances have been decent enough with defensive blunders and a lack of final product costing us. These problems are beginning to fade and the return of Loovens and Purse at the back will help. In addition, City have scored in the last 6 games with 6 goals coming in the last two games.

Vital Cardiff sees the Bluebirds impressing with a win although you wouldn't bet against Barnsley to score - A 3-1 win for Cardiff City! Leave Your Prediction!!!
