Watford are the visitors to Ninian Park tonight, the Hornets currently sitting joint top of the Championship with Bristol City (?!?) ahead on goal difference.
Aidy Boothroyd's men have an impressive 12 points from 5 games including a superb comeback recently to beat Southampton courtesy of a late brace from super-sub Darius Henderson.
Last season's Premiership flops boast a potent strikeforce of Henderson, Marlon King and Nathan Ellington. Returning to Ninian Park will also be winger Jobi McAnuff - the dangerous ex-Wimbledon wideman enjoyed a spell with Cardiff City before being sold to cover our mounting debt.
The familiar and bulky figure of Dan Shittu will be responsible for keeping Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink quiet in what should be a good battle.
Cardiff City's home form so far has been poor. They have failed to take their chances despite long periods of possession and lost both games 1-0. An away win at Norwich City, and a spirited fightback at Plymouth will have lifted Cardiff as they face the biggest test of the season so far.
Cardiff have strong links with the Hornets, assistant Terry Burton joined the Bluebirds from Vicarage Road and was instrumental in bringing players like Neal Ardley (now Cardiff academy manager), James Chambers and Jermaine Darlington to the club.
If Cardiff continue to improve their form, this should be an interesting game. Our home form must be improved, while Watford are gunning for automatic promotion and need points from fixtures like this.
Vital Cardiff correctly called the Plymouth game as a draw, and with home advantage - we're backing the Bluebirds to again take a point - not so optimistic as others in the forum!
