Cardiff City travel to Home Park this weekend for a televised game against Plymouth Argyle.
The Pilgrims have enjoyed a mixed start to the season, with a win, two draws and a defeat in their opening 4 games. Like Cardiff City, PAFC have also reached the third round of the Carling Cup so have lost just one game so far this campaign.
After losing Tony Capaldi to us over the summer, Plymouth manager Ian Holloway has strengthened his squad with the captures of Hungarian pair Krisztian Timar and Peter Halmosi while they recently strengthened their weak back-line with the acquisition of France Under-21 central defender Larrys Mabiala on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain. Anthony Barness and Hasney Aljofree also left the club during the summer leaving their squad still looking no stronger than last season and without the inspiration of talented Chelsea youngster Scott Sinclair.
Cardiff City have not brought anyone in since the recent injuries to Purse, MacLean and a recurrent problem for Scimeca. The club had been thought to be trying to capture a defender and pacy striker on 'emergency loan` deals but no activity has been forthcoming.
The current team is beginning to gel nicely, with Hasselbaink and Fowler gaining in fitness and forming an understanding up-front. The likes of Parry and Whittingham have been playing themselves into contention lately with some good performances before the International break.
Vital Cardiff has predicted a hard fought 1-1 draw, although there is a sense of greater optimism on the forum where most sense a victory for the bluebirds. Click here to leave your prediction for the game!
