Cardiff Fans Thoughts On New Striker

A recent poll suggested by Vital Cardiff City reader bluebird04 invited the thoughts of other Cardiff City fans as to the necessity of a new striker.

After a lenthy injury to Steven MacLean, Cardiff were thought to be scouring the loan market for suitable cover. Feeney has been loaned out (to Swansea City), while Matt Green and Jason Byrne have not featured in a league squad this season. This leaves the veteran duo of Hasselbaink and Fowler, with only Paul Parry as cover in an unfamiliar role to the winger.

However, there has been no news on a signing during the 2 week international break, and the club has been very quiet on that front. We have become used to the 'biding our time' and 'waiting for the right player / working hard behind the scenes' speeches, but no news has been forthcoming.

The poll invited fans to vote whether they though a new striker was:

Necessity. 65%
Luxury. 7%
Waste of Time. 28%

This to me, represents somewhat of a split vote. A hefty 65% believe a new striker is a must, but then what fan doesn't want a new striker?!? A significant 28% thought is was a waste of time, we don't need to panic and MacLean will be back before Christmas and we have the players to cope until then.

A new poll is open, suggested by ANDYGUY, inviting your views on Robbie Fowler's wage packet !
