Cardiff City's newest recruit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has spoken of his fierce competitive streak and 'will-to-win' mentality.
Hasselbaink looks as eager and determined as ever since joining the Bluebirds. His work rate has been impressive and he has not been afraid to share any of his opinions with his colleagues on the field.
Poor crosses and misplaced passes have cost City in the final third, while Hasselbaink has been quick to let the player know his deelings on the matter. Jimmy revealed that this side to him can be annoying for other playersbut this mentality has served him well so far in his impressive career which has seen him play for the likes of Chelsea FC, Leeds United (when they were good!), Middlesborough FC, and Charlton Athletic.
Hasselbaink told the SW Echo:
'Winning to me is so important.'
"I work hard in training and in every game I play. I don`t even like losing a match in a training session.'
"The only way I will be happy at this club is when we are high up in the league."
Hopefully the determination and competitiveness will rub off on a few of the other players, Jimmy is a great guy to have in and around the dressing room and his experience will be invaluable to youngsters such as Gunter, Blake, Green, Ramsey etc all on the fringes of the first team.
