Cardiff Fans Want WBA's Ellington

Cardiff City are still intent on adding another striker to their squad before the Championship clash with Stoke in just over a weeks time.

The search for a 'big number 9' seems to have been rumbling on all summer as Jones scours the market for a big target man to play alongside Fowler and MacLean.

Several names have been linked very recently with the club and a recent poll on this Vital Cardiff City website produced the following results:

Which striker would you prefer to see join ?

Rowan Vine. 15%
Steve Howard. 6%
Nathan Ellington. 63%
Steve Thompson! 8%
A.N.Other. 8%

A clear favourite emerged with former Wigan and West Brom striker Nathan Ellington receiving the majority of the votes. He is not the target man we were after but could be available and should score goals. Readers may be remembering his stunning goal against the Bluebirds last season (which eventually won the WBA goal of the season award).

Rowan Vine is also a target, with Dave Jones a long-time admirer of the former Luton Town frontman, while a few people thought burly Scottish striker Steve Thompson deserved another crack in the coming season.
