Kilkenny a Target For Bluebirds

Cardiff City are reportedly close to the signing of Australian midfielder Neil Kilkenny from Birmingham City.

At 21, Kilkenny is an inexperienced youngster but highly regarded by many. He has a loan spell at Oldham where he impressed and has featured for Birmingham since a move from Arsenal where he was a trainee.

Kilkenny is an attacking minded midfielder, scoring 4 in 26 games while with Oldham. Cardiff do not currently have a player of this type but do have promising youngsters Aaron Ramsey and Darcy Blake in that position.

Reports are suggesting a fee of £1.2m has been agreed, this seems a high figure for Cardiff City to pay while other team areas are of higher priority. Neither club has confirmed the move although Nottingham Forest are also credited with an interest.

Cardiff have been in talks with Birmingham City over striker Rowan Vine, but no deal has been agreed.

hes not good enough for cardiff anyway, i think birmingham really need him because if you can lose 2-0 to us and then struggle to even beat us at st,andrews then birmingham will deffo need to keep him.
