Weymouth 3-0 Cardiff City

Cardiff City's impressive pre-season results to date took a dive yesterday after going down by 3 goals to nil against Weymouth.

The good news is that it was a youthful and inexperienced side who took the field although Jason Byrne and Matt Green, both hoping for first team action next season both disappointed.

Darcy Blake and Aaron Ramsey started in midfield and again looked tidy and full of running. The Bluebirds introduced numerous young substitutes but were unable to carve out more than a couple of decent chances.

Weymouth looked a bit sharper and got their three goals all with a touch of fortune. A rebounded penalty, a mishit shot and an own goal.

It was a reserve team that represented Cardiff City yesterday - but the fringe players will have to do better to force their way into first team contention.
