Cardiff Reject Chopra Bid !!
Cardiff City have rejected a bid for Michael Chopra as confirmed by the Bluebirds chairman Peter Ridsdale.
The former Leeds chairman has maintained that every player has his price but has stuck to his word and rejected bids for Chopra, McPhail, Gunter and Ramsey.
Interest in the Geordie striker appeared to have cooled after early speculation. Everton and Man City were credited with an interest while Watford were rumoured to be preparing a bid this week.
'We haven't had any bid from Watford although we have had a bid for Michael Chopra' Ridsdale told BBC Sport.
'But like the bids we've had for other players we've said 'no', we want to try and keep the team together.'
It would be a blow to lose Chopra this close to the start of the season and with little time to sceure a like-for-like 'goalscorer' replacement.
The unknown bidders could return and test our resolve but Chops is key to the club's immediate future and should be kept under bids reach the 'silly money' stage.
