Bluebirds Pair Impress In Training

One of the most highly regarded tests for fitness and stamina has revealed some unlikely candidates to be the best in Cardiff City's squad.

Danny Gabbidon has been the king of the bleep tests in recent years for the Bluebirds but the new test favoured by fitness coach Alex Armstrong is the 'yo-yo' test.

A more enhanced bleep test, the intermittent yo-yo technique involves more gaps between running and all members of the Bluebirds' squad have impressed and reached a high level.

The slightly unexpected pair of Roger Johnson and new-boy Tony Capaldi have gained the highest scores from the squad. Both are defenders by trade but have good engines and excellent fitness levels.

Alex Armstrong spoke to Cardiff City World and revealed himself to be impressed with the attitude and fitness of the entire squad:

'Each player then went into a three-week training programme and it`s obvious the way they have come back everybody followed their schedule.'

'I knew straightaway, as I spoke to each player, they had all worked hard.'

Capaldi is an interesting one. Not a typical Jones signing!
