Cardiff City's Squad Split Details

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has selected his squads for the simulataneous matches against Carmarthen Town and Merthyr Tydfil.

Jones has selected a mixture of first team players in both squads:

To face Carmarthen Town:

Chris Gunter, Glenn Loovens, Tony Capaldi, Gavin Rae, Joe Ledley and Steven MacLean.

To face Merthyr Tydfil:

David Forde, Darren Purse, Kevin McNaughton, Roger Johnson, Stephen McPhail, Warren Feeney, Michael Chopra, Jason Byrne and Paul Parry.

Obviously the squad to face The Martyrs has a stronger feel to in and includes more of the likely first team starters. The inclusion of Ledley and Loovens categorically proves that there is no 'A' and 'B' squad and both teams will be expected to win their respective games.

Of the 4 first choice strikers, 3 will face Merthyr although teenage pace ace Matt Green will be available to partner MacLean against Carmarthen.
