Cardiff Man Vows To Stay Injury-Free

Cardiff City's new recruit has vowed to shake off the injury blues that have dogged his career to date.

Gavin Rae suffered with fitness whilst at SPL giants Glasgow Rangers and never got a sustained run in the side. Back-to-back knee injuries kept him out for 18 months but the Scottish midfielder has no doubts about his current fitness and mentality telling the South Wales Echo:

'Believe me, I am coming to Cardiff fully fit and fully committed. I am fired up to make the most of this chance.'

'Cardiff have quality throughout their squad. My job is to add extra competition. Mix things up a bit.'

Rae will be the first choice back-up to Stephen McPhail and Riccy Scimeca. We struggled without either at times last season and need added quality for competition and back-up.

In addition, youngsters Darcy Blake and Aaron Ramsey are available giving Cardiff a well-balanced and useful central midfield unit.

Rae recently joined the Bluebirds on a free transfer, after his Rangers contact expired. He was also linked with Hearts and Norwich City.
