After an up-and-down season, Cardiff City finished comfortably mid-table. A scintillating start was followed by a dismal end and the same players looked half as effective as previously.
VitalCardiff brings you an end of season review of each player. If you disagree then feel free to leave a comment at the foot of this article or e-mail Vital Bluebirds with an alternative review!!
The reviews will be published every weekday between 10-11am:
17 KEVIN COOPER
Many Cardiff City fans would not be aware that Kevin Cooper was still a Bluebirds player, the former Wolves man didn`t get a look-in at Ninian Park this season.
An experienced wideman, Cooper is short on pace and has been used by Dave Jones on the right side of midfield primarily as a passer to link the midfield and the attack. This aspect of Cardiff`s play was missing at times but Cooper was not called upon with Parry, Kamara and Flood used on the right instead.
October was spent on loan at Yeovil, while another loan spell followed for 'Coops` in the New Year at eventual League 2 champions Walsall.
Cooper made just 5 appearances in a Cardiff City shirt this season, appearing as a substitute in 4 league games (all of which were drawn) in between his 2 loan stints. He also participated in Cardiff`s heavy 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
At the end of the season, Kevin was placed on the transfer list but the club have received no interest as yet and Cooper remains a Cardiff City player for the time being.
He has made 40 Bluebirds appearances in total, scoring one memorable goal from all of 30 yards in the 2005-06 season.
