Bids Rejected For Cardiff Starlets

Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale has spoken of the interest in Cardiff City players over the summer and revealed that he would have been forced to accept many of those offers if not for the improved financial footing of the club.

Finances have improved dramatically since Ridsdale's arrival, and with the new stadium going 'unconditional' and securing the future of the club - affairs are looking much brighter at the club.

We are not used to having too much interest in our players with normally just one player attracting any sizeable bid at any one time (e.g. Earnshaw, Gabbidon, Jerome). However, with the squad impressing for large periods of last season - Ridsdale revealed that interest has been rife.

'Twelve months ago, I would have taken all of those bids.'
Ridsdale told BBC Sport.

'It has to be a price I think we could reinvest in the squad and make it stronger.'

'So far, nobody has gone over that barrier for any of our players and therefore they are staying with us.'

It is good to think that the likes of Michael Chopra and Joe Ledley will be remaining at the club and we dont have to keep selling to survive. Cardiff need more weight in the transfer market to succeed but are building an impressive looking team for the future.

Improved financial footing of the club? Can you be confident when those words are uttered by PR?
