Cardiff Target Villa Keeper Taylor

After discussing the secrecy surrounding our mystery goalkeeper - the South Wales Echo reckons they know our target.

Cardiff City are reportedly chasing Aston Villa's former Arsenal starlet Stuart Taylor. The player was highly rated and commanded a fee of £1m when leaving Arsenal, however, the player has had limited chances and is desperately seeking first team football.

Taylor's stature fits Dave Jones' preferences (he is huge!) and he is a commanding figure with good shot-stopping capabilities.

Cardiff do not have money to waste, and Villa would certainly want to recoup some of the money they spent on Taylor. Martin O'Neill wants to rebuild his squad and could be tempted to let Taylor leave, either on loan - but more likely on a permanent deal.

The capture of Taylor would be an impressive coup for the club but should other clubs realise his availability - Cardiff may face stiff competition for his signiture.

True to form, there has been no word (yet) from the club - but expect a denial from Mr Ridsdale shortly !!!
