Chopra To Keep 'Coming Over Hill'

Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale remains positive about keeping 22 goal hotshot Michael Chopra at Ninian Park next season.

Chopra is highly ambitious and would relish the chance to test himself in the Premiership, he has spoken openly about his frustration over not being considered for England yet and revealed he would even consider joining his hometown's fierce rivals Sunderland.

No bids have come in for the striker as yet, but bids valuing the player above £3.5m may well be considered by the club as they seek to rebuild the squad in preparation for a play-off bid next term.

There has been much speculation but Ridsdale believes that Chopra will not be moving:

'If I was put on the spot, I would have to say I think Michael will be a Cardiff City player next season.'

Not the most confisent of responses but not quite a 'come and get him' plea. Chopra's new contract means City get a fair price for the player and shows the club's intent to keep on of the star's at the club if possible.

Only time will tell, but Chops may well be 'coming over the hill' again next season.
