Cardiff Man Out To Prove Point

Cardiff Man Out To Prove Point

Cardiff City's midfielder Willo Flood has moved to Dundee United on loan for the season and is looking to revive his career after a frustrating first season in the Championship.

Flood moved to Cardiff last season but failed to establish himself in Dave Jones' starting XI. He showed determination, committment and some neat touches but was unable to get into the game as much as he would have liked.

Now Flood has spoken over his frustration of life in the Championship and vowed to play better football during his loan spell:

'The style of play down there is frustrating. With a lot of Championship clubs, they just want to stay up or be mid-table.'

'They're happy with that so they play it into the corners to get teams running back to their own goal.'

'The whole point of me coming to Dundee United is to play. Unless you're playing you don't really feel part of things.'

'I want to show how good I am and prove to myself I'm still a decent player. When you're in and out of the team you start to doubt your own ability.'

The 22 year old has age on his side and would benefit from regular competitive action. Dave Jones still sees the midfielder as past of his plans and will hope to have a new, improved Willo Flood competing for places in a year.
