Cardiff City Target Gavin Rae

Cardiff City are chasing ANOTHER free transfer signing from North of the border and the SPL.

Gavin Rae is a midfielder just released by Rangers and is hoping for a move to the Championship. With a reputation for bursting forward from midfield, he fits Cariff's brief for a box-to-box midfielder and has also captained Rangers.

At the moment, Norwich City are leading the chase for the midfield man and Rae would love to link up with Jim Duffy who managed him at Dundee.

However, Rae revealed he would also jump at the chance to join Cardiff if the right offer came along:

'I'd be absolutely delighted if either Norwich or Cardiff were to come off.

The English scene is very strong at the moment so we'll just need to wait and see what happens.

I'm a free agent and have to weigh up all my options to make the right move.'

Rae was a big name at Rangers before struggling to get regular first team football recently. He is a powerful player and could be a good acquisition for the Bluebirds - who desperately need to strengthen that area of the side with a proven, quality player.
