Cardiff City to Play Patience Game
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has spoken out after a lull in transfer dealings and the squad looking extremely thin.
It was thought Cardiff would act swiftly in the transfer market and swoop for bargain players of the right calibre. So far, however, they have added only Tony Capaldi to their ranks and have missed out on some other targets including the high-profile striker Chris Killen who joined Celtic instead.
'We are going to be patient. We are pressing hard to bring players in but we will not pay fees which we don`t feel a player is worth.'
'We will bring players in at the right price at the right time.'
'We won`t be rushed into paying fees we feel are too big at this stage in the close season.'
There has been some discomfort amongst Cardiff fans who feel that Cardiff are missing out on players and have been unenthused by the calibre of players currently being linked.
The captures of Loovens, Chopra and McNaughton last season were major coups for the clubs and Jones and Ridsdale maintain that this year's squad will be stronger and better balanced.
