Cardiff's Ridsdale Slams Killen

Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale has revealed his frustration after Chris Killen did an 11th hour U-turn and spurned Cardiff City to sign for Celtic instead.

The player spoke in the press about his impending move to Cardiff City from Hibernian and expected the deal to be completed this week. However, late interest from Celtic persuaded the New Zealand striker to remain in Scotland.

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale was understandably dissappointed with the player's decision:

'We are in the market for payers who want to play for this club so it was better to find out now than further down the line.'

'This move clearly demonstrates that Killen did not feel for the club and I look on this as a lucky escape for us.'

Manager Dave Jones was reserved in his comments but reveealed his displeasure:

"Let`s just say I`m not happy with the lad, it`s best left there."

Cardiff must now turn their attentions to finding an alternative having already planned and bedgetted on capturing Killen for no fee.

PR trying to save face rather than admit defeat ...?
Dobby
Too right Dobby! This was a no-brainer. I can think of many reasons that a player already living in Scotland wanted to go to the top team there. What PR and Jones are saying is that if a player speaks to you, he must commit! Give me a break. This kid did what is best for him, PR's comments that Killen did not "feel" for the club were the stupidist comments from any chairperson in a very long time. The way it works is if the parties agree it is best it will probably work out. Killen abviously thought otherwise. PR, Jonesey, you are plonkers. THis guy had the right to choose, the same as you are both at Cardiff because you chose to be.
