Cardiff's Flood Attracting Interest

Willo Flood, Cardiff City's tenascious Irish midfielder could yet leave the club despite finding himself on the 'retained list' at Ninian Park.

Following a summer move from Manchester City, Flood has failed to establish a first team place and has been a substitute for much of the season. Despite showing nice touches and determination when he has appeared, the player has yet to be given a prolonged run in the team.

It seems Flood has yet to find his role in the team, primarily used as a right sided midfielder, he is not a winger but more of a neat passes and dogged running type player. He has showed glimpses of good form, and scored a crucial goal against Leeds United early in the season, running the entire length of the field to slot home Michael Chopra's return pass.

Reports of interest from Flood's home country of Ireland circulated recently, with a possible loan move being touted. However, Dundee United manager Craig Levein is understood to be keen on the player and is considering a move to bring Flood to the SPL.

It seems that Flood is still in Dave Jones' first team plans, but a move either to gain experience or generate funds could prove beneficial to the club as well as the player.
