Cardiff's Chopra: 'We Bottled It'

Cardiff City hotshot Michael Chopra has spoken out over the reversal in Bluebirds' fortunes and thinks that a lack of belief cost Cardiff City the chance of promotion.

'Maybe, towards the end, we did not have the belief we needed - we did not have that inner confidence among the lads that we could finish the job and we haven't played as we can.'

'I include myself in that. I wondered at times if we could really do it.

Chopra has netted 22 times over the season for the Bluebirds, an impressive return for a player in his first season at Championship level. The Geordie earnt a new contract at Ninian Park, but his goalscoring feats have not gone un-noticed and Everton are among three clubs showing interest in the player.

Nevertheless, Chopra is intent on remaining at Cardiff City and is determined that the mistakes of this season will be put behind the squad and they can come up with a more sustained push next time around.

'We will learn from this and come back all the stronger for the experience.'
