Cardiff City`s talented young midfielder Joe Ledley is set to achieve a remarkable feat if he plays in the final game of the season against Ipswich Town.
The homegrown player has playing in every league game for the Bluebirds this season, and his form and versatility have been extremely important for the team. Primarily a left-sided midfielder, Ledley has spent the latter part of the season at left-back. This was partly to accommodate January signing Peter Whittingham on the wing but with injuries to Purse and Loovens, Ledley`s versatility allowed Kevin McNaughton to cover admirably across the back four. Several games were also spent in central midfield where he outshone Stephen McPhail in that position.
Pace, passing, good tackling and a cultured left foot have seen Ledley establish himself as a key member of the Bluebirds squad and it is easy to forget his young age. At only 20, he is already one of the more experienced members of the side and is consistent aswell making him a permanent fixture in Dave Jones` starting XI.
Aside from being selected, it is highly impressive that Ledley has not picked up an injury all season and for a defender/midfielder to accrue just 3 yellow cards (therefore no suspensions) over a season is unusual.
A remarkable feat for the youngster and we look forwardx to seeing him feature on a regular basis again next season.
