'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cardiff 0-1 Hull (manager comment)

Dave Jones gave an all-too-familiar press conference following the most recent defeat, another 1-0 reversal - this time at the hands of Hull City.

The Cardiff City manager again bemoaned the lack of strikerpower available an d was left to rue missed chances:

'It's been the same old story since the turn of the year. We had several good clear-cut chances to take the lead and we dominated the game but we just couldn't score.'

'We have gone from being the division's top scorers to not being able to score at all and it has shown me that certain players at the club are just not good enough to take us where we want to go.'

Hull boss Phil Brown was delighted after his side all but secured their Championship status for next season at the expense of Leeds United:

'It is a fantastic result for the club and a credit to all the players.'
