Case for Blake in Cardiff Midfield
Cardiff City are facing somewhat of an injury crisis for tomorrows game with Hull City (full team news to follow later).
Kevin McNaughton will be forced to play at centre-back with Gilbert or Ledley accompanying Gunter as the fullbacks.
What Cardiff have lacked in recent months is a cutting edge and ability to create chances and break down defences. For this reason I would like to see the addition of youngster Darcy Blake into central midfield. His passing is excellent and he could provide the creative spark McPhail has not provided of late.
A midfield consisting of those two could be lightweight so the tanascious bite of Willo Flood could be retained, and I would recall Paul Parry to the left in place of the ineffectual Peter Whittingham who seems to be content to wait for the season's end already.
With Chopra absent, a case could be made for a 4-5-1 formation with Thompson bringing midfielders into the game - not going to happen.
